Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: I just moved in to my dream apartment on the waterfront of the Hudson River, overlooking lower Manhattan in the Paulus Hook neighborhood of Jersey City. The building itself is luxurious with every amenity and convenience you can imagine (pool, roof deck, sweeping Manhattan views, lounges, library, game room, party room, golf simulator, catering kitchen, parking garage, storage, and more), but what really sold me on the place was the amount of space in my one-bedroom and the views — not to mention the ample wall space to curate the gallery wall I’d long been envisioning and collecting for!

Although I’ve just moved in, my vision has really come to life and I think really reflects my personal style. Most pieces come from my travels around the world to places like India, Kenya, Cambodia, China, Japan, France, Italy, Ireland, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, and more. Or they’re from local antique and thrift shops or secondhand from Facebook Marketplace. I then fill in with statement pieces and furniture from beloved brands like Article, Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, Arhaus, Wayfair, and Amazon (for really great lookalike pieces at a better price).

I think my personal perspective is reflected well in my style because I like to showcase the beauty and treasures around the world and, in the same way, appreciate diversity in people, perspectives, and experience in my own life. I think a life of travel and opening up our experiences to deepen our worldview is critical, and my choice of decor reflects that aspect of me. I also love color in my clothes, too; life is beautiful and bold and too short to be monochromatic, right?

What is your favorite room and why? My living room. I gave a lot of thought to curating my gallery wall and how the rug, couch, and all pieces would go together in the room. I think it’s a great snapshot of my styling philosophy.

Any advice for creating a home you love? Be unabashedly you. Being yourself never goes out of style. I know a lot of people who worry about what’s in or trendy when it comes to fashion and design, and I’ve just never lived that way. I have always over-accessorized, lived in color and pattern, and have been shopping for antiques since I was in grade school. I’m a collector through and through, and having unique, beautiful things around me reminds me of my own and everyone else’s unique beauty, too! Let your home be your sanctuary and a reflection of who you are; and it will be special no matter what!
