Ellie Goulding’s Raw Wood Kitchen Cabinets Are What Dreams Are Made Of
Earlier this month, Vogue paid a visit to Ellie Goulding and spent “24 hours” at home with the “Worry About Me” singer. As is true for many households, Goulding’s kitchen is seemingly the hub, and with its distressed wood cabinets and old-world style tile backsplash, it’s clear why she and her brother Alex like to spend their time hanging out there.
“I’m a bit funny when it comes to houses because I don’t like big, big houses. I like being enclosed,” Goulding told Vogue during their stay. “I just find this really cozy,” she said of her space. The warm tones of the raw wood matched with the bright white walls create the perfect mashup of vintage, shabby chic vibes, and modernity.
The white-washed upper cabinets mixed in with the honey-colored paneled lower cabinets is an especially fun combo, and gives the kitchen a reclaimed, lived-in feel—which, as Goulding said, is very “cozy.”
If you like the old-world-meets-new-world feel of Goulding’s kitchen cabinetry, you can actually bring a distressed wood look into your own space for cheap. Over on Amazon, you can purchase peel-and-stick wallpaper in a distressed wood motif that looks like the real thing.
For example, this pattern looks super similar to Goulding’s upper cabinets.
Buy: Reclaimed Wood Self-Adhesive Peel-Stick Wallpaper, $35.98/2 packs
And this wallpaper design looks spot on to the lower cabinets in Goulding’s kitchen:
Buy: Blooming Wall Barnwood Wood Plank Removable Wallpaper, $39.90
After DIYing your kitchen cabinets all you need is a farm table/island, some graphic tiles, and a crystal chandelier to complete the full Goulding-inspired makeover.
