Designer Emily Henderson is back with another Skillshare class—this time with a few of her friends. Following the success of her first class in 2019, Henderson reunited with the online learning company to launch a new showcase series to amplify diverse voices in the design community. The showcase will feature three DIY design classes taught by three diverse designers: celebrity interior designer Mikel Welch, design blogger (and former Apartment Therapy editor) Arlyn Hernandez, and content creator Albie Buabeng.

The courses aim to empower students to take on their next home projects and create beautiful, unique spaces. Welch, a set designer on TV shows, will teach a class centered on luxe designs on a budget for those who want to create sophisticated, opulent spaces without breaking the bank. Hernandez’s course will teach students how to turn their design mood boards into reality, showcasing how to create Pinterest-worthy spaces. Buabeng, who spearheaded the #ShareTheMicNow social initiative for the design community last summer, will teach a course on reversible design, showcasing ways to create stylish, homey spaces without the commitment of permanent design choices.

For those new to Skillshare, Henderson’s courses with Welch, Hernandez, and Buabeng are free to access for 14 days with a Skillshare Premium free trial. Click here to access the courses

New to the world of design? Don’t worry—the courses are all beginner-friendly. “If you are home, staring at your walls, not satisfied with your space and paralyzed or scared to start—we’ve got you,” the designer writes in her blog. “We’re teaching a ton of new information from different perspectives and featuring people I really trust. The classes are beginner-friendly, with tips for all… and plus, if you like being a voyeur, you can hang out with (or just watch) me and my dear friends at the end.” Henderson adds, “So stop scrolling on your phone and get yourselves over to Skillshare to check out our new series. Arlyn, Mikel, Albie, and I will be there waiting.”
