Erin Napier Detailed the Sweet Story Behind One of Her Most Popular Candles
Erin Napier’s Stockbridge candle is back in stock at Laurel Mercantile Co. just in time for fall. And Napier treated her fans to the inspiration behind the “warm cider and fall breeze” scent. As is true with all her scented candles, Stockbridge is inspired by a specific time, place, person, and memory that happened a decade ago.
“10 years ago we took a road trip through New England and saved a couple nights for one of our favorite places in America, Stockbridge, Massachusetts and the @redlioninn,” Napier wrote in the caption of a September 22 Instagram post. “Ben was turning 29, and we were carefree.”
Alongside photos from that trip, Napier shared that she and Ben “spent an afternoon picking apples in an orchard, then drank hot cider from fresh local apples on the porch of the inn. I wore my favorite winter coat, because it was cold. In September!”
“We were so happy there, and I worked hard in recent years developing candles that would capture that time so it would never be lost,” Napier continued. “They’re back in stock @laurelmercantile (and Stockbridge is burning on my kitchen counter until further notice).”
Stockbridge is a warm mix of caramel, Granny Smith apples, and brown sugar, and it comes in four sizes (though the 24 oz. is already sold out). The scent also comes in hand soap and a room spray.
Although that memory of her Stockbridge vacation is all her own, the rest of us get to take a small peek into Napier’s past and make our own memories with Stockbridge burning in the background.
