Erin Napier Has Written a Children’s Book
Erin Napier may be known for her incredible design skills, but now she can add “children’s book author” to her resume. Napier is releasing her first kids’ book on May 24 and, unsurprisingly, it’s all about making an old home new again.
“My first children’s book, #TheLanternHouse, illustrated by my friend @adamtrest will be in stores everywhere May 24,” Napier captioned an April 6 Instagram post. “I can’t believe it’s next month.”
She added, “Also, my tiny baby Mae will be turning one year old. So much to celebrate!”
The book, which is available for pre-order through the Laurel Mercantile website (as well as other bookselling locations), is about an old home waiting for a new family to make it what it once was.
“Imagine a house’s early days as a home: A young family builds a picket fence and plants flowers in its yard, children climb the magnolia tree and play the piano in the living room, and there is music inside the house for many happy years,” the book’s description reads. “But what will happen when its windows grow dark, the paint starts to crumble, and its boards creak in the winter wind?
“The Lantern House dreams of a family who will love it again…and one day, a new story will emerge from within its walls.”
“The Lantern House” is illustrated by Napier’s friend Adam Trest, who paints whimsical animal portraits and landscapes. His artwork has made a few appearances on “Home Town” and can prints can be bought at Laurel Mercantile.
