On May 1, Erin Napier shared an incredibly heartfelt Instagram post about watching her daughter Helen grow up and become more and more like her every day. “Isn’t it wild to watch yourself as a child relived through your own kids? Helen is me,” she wrote in the caption, jokingly adding, “Lord, help us through the teenage years. Amen.”

And as much as Napier’s followers were eating up the sentimentality of her post, some were also fawning over the graphic-print couch in the background of her photo.

“I’m loving the fabric on that sofa!!” one person commented. Another wrote, “That sofa ❤️.” And Napier responded to one fan who commented, “Love that couch.”

@rowefinefurniture is the best! 🇺🇸” Napier wrote back.

Rowe Furniture, founded in Virginia, specializes in unique upholstery and occasional furniture. It’s an eco-friendly brand that uses recycled and green materials in the construction of its furniture as well as more sustainable upholstery fabrics compared to other brands. The retailer has over 1,000 custom fabrics to choose from, including this tiled stripe pattern in blue and white.

And as seen in another inspiration pic on the Rowe Furniture Instagram feed, it looks like this fabric comes in black and white, too.

Boldly patterned couches may have been big back in the ‘70s and ‘80s, but Napier proves that patterned couches — specifically striped couches — can be cool rather than kitschy. And navy-and-white stripes don’t have to read as nautical.

It may feel like you’re taking a risk picking such a graphic print for a large piece of furniture. But more likely than not, your risk will definitely pay off and your sofa will become your favorite piece in the space. Use Napier’s pic as inspiration, and go forth!
