You may recall that back in January, we announced Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was heading back to HGTV. Now, the famed program is giving you an opportunity to score your dream house… If you can pass the cut.

HGTV is searching for deserving people to appear on the new season of the show, and competition is fierce. In a post on their website, the network requested application from people who “have given back to their community in a substantive way despite personal challenges, who have an inspirational, uplifting story to tell — and who would love to move into a beautiful new place to live – custom created for them by a team of design experts.”

But there is a twist in this new edition of the program. Instead of strictly focusing on homeowners, HGTV’s version of the program also encourages renters and people looking to relocate to apply.

The casting site reads: “If you are applying on behalf of your own family, please be aware that if you are a homeowner, you will be considered for a complete home makeover. If you are a renter, you will be considered for a brand-new home, potentially in a new part of your current town/city. In some cases, we may even consider renters who are looking to relocate to an entirely new city or state, in which case you would receive a new home in that new location.”

If you think you’d be a good fit for the show, or if you know somebody who would be, HGTV is asking that you head to www.emhe.tv to check out further information about how to apply.

The show is expected to hit airwaves in 2020. But if you need something to tide you over, you’re in luck: HGTV has secured the rights to air 100 episodes of the original series that ran on ABC from 2003 to 2012, the network previously announced.
