Dining area featuring a wooden table with black chairs, decorative flowers, a hammock, and a plant.

I’m in the midst of wedding planning, and for all of you who are in the same boat (or have yet to embark on this adventure!) the one thing we can all agree on regardless of how different our pending nuptials may be: Prices can add up quickly. Party favors? Astronomical! Florals? Unthinkable! So, I’m looking to save money where possible — all without sacrificing style.

When I came across these ultra-popular faux China plastic plates on Amazon, I immediately understood why one video on social media had racked up over 15,000 likes. After reading some of the positive reviews, I’m considering nabbing some for my bridal brunch, but truly they could be used for any formal or informal occasion. Wedding or not, these toile-printed party plates deserve a spot in your pantry, stat!

Amazon’s Faux China Plates Look Just Like the Real Deal

In a recent video, Autumn Wood (@weddingplannerhq) shared how she set up these $38 plate sets on her table. (She bought the blue set that comes adorned with birds, and the plates with pink bows.) The blue set looks like traditional china you’d find on a wedding registry.

“You guys are not going to believe this. These plates are actually disposable. The blue ones especially look like china to me; I am so impressed,” Autumn said in the video. “And these pink ones would be so perfect for a shower. You’re going to fool your guests with these.”

These Gorgeous Disposable Plates Are Dressed in Eight Different Prints

A set of plates costs $38 (a fraction of the cost of real china!), and with it you’ll get 60 total plates in two sizes (30 dinner plates and 30 dessert plates). They are also made in eight distinct patterns, including butterfly motifs, pink flowers, or blue bows. Not only do they look good, but they’ll also hold up well. The food-grade, non-toxic, BPA-free plastic is sturdy and won’t bend or leak, whether the food is hot or cold.

“My mom would keep these for 20 years,” someone commented on Autumn’s video. And, you know what? I would too! You can even reuse these plate sets: Just hand-wash them instead of putting them in the dishwasher (they’re also not safe for the microwave!). You might want to snag these sets soon, as I’m totally tempted to buy them all for my upcoming wedding weekend. Happy shopping!
