You Can Rent This 750-Square-Foot Cabin from Season 5 of ‘Fixer Upper’
If your kind of a vacation involves a whole lot of HGTV inspiration, then do we have the dream retreat for you. Frequent fans of Waco’s wonder duo, Chip and Joanna Gaines, are probably familiar with the couple’s collaborator, Jimmy Don Holmes. Holmes often participated in “Fixer Upper” renovations, putting his special touch on the projects with his intricate metalwork. But in a season 5 episode of the show, Jimmy Don spent some significant time in front of the camera when Chip and Jo tackled the renovation of his 750 square-foot cabin.
While Jimmy Don’s son Jake loved the renovated barn, the Waco Vacation Rentals blog states that Jake has since married and bought a home of his own. As a result, like many “Fixer Upper” properties before it, the barn has gone on the rental market. (And yes, according to the listing, he got Chip and Joanna’s approval to do so.)
“We decided to make a vacation rental out of it,” Jimmy Don tells the camera in a prepared video, as he sits on a stool wearing a cowboy hat. “We got everything lined up and looking good, so we want you all to come out here and see it and make yourself at home.”
The two-bed, one-bath home is extremely private. Located at the end of a long dirt road dotted with cedar trees, the property sleeps four guests and has stunning views of the Texas countryside. There’s plenty of small Texas towns to explore nearby, as well as the Silos, Baylor University, and Jimmy Don’s JDH Iron Designs business in Valley Mills.
Wondering what a stay at Jimmy Don’s Cabin will cost you? Browsing around on the calendar, we’re seeing rates starting at $375 per night, or $2300+ for an entire week. Dates in March through May are currently available.
