This Travel Bag Is Actually Cute and Comfortable to Carry Around (I Recommend It to Everyone!)

There’s nothing I love more than an easy weekend trip. That’s an underrated plus about living in NYC, it being so accessible to other East Coast cities. Naturally, as a bag lady, I’ve tried more duffels and weekender bags than I’d care to admit — some don’t fit enough, some lack a proper number of pockets, and others basically break my back. And honestly? Some are just plain ugly. I recently got the chance to test out actress Millie Bobby Brown’s (actually cute) florence by mills x DELSEY PARIS Weekender Bag on a weekend trip, and I think I’ve finally found my goldilocks “just right” bag.

Available in lavender and black (with a lavender logo and interior), the florence by mills x DELSEY PARIS “Chill Out” Weekender Bag is a stylish, durable oversized bag that’s perfect for a long weekend getaway. At 14.5 inches tall, 22.5 inches wide, and 10 inches deep with an entire drop-bottom compartment for shoes, it can fit enough for a recommended two to three days and works as a perfect carry-on bag.  

Made of recycled polyester, the weekender bag has a 41-liter capacity, including a padded laptop sleeve for a 14-inch device, an adjustable shoulder strap, tote handles, and an attached band so you can slip it over your luggage’s handle. Plus, the bag has several hidden compartments, zipper and slip pockets for important items, and added storage space. If you’re looking for a little extra security, the top zipper has overlapping loops built-in so you can add a TSA-approved lock.

This is the first bag I’ve ever had with a lower shoe compartment, and it makes all the difference. I’m a women’s size 9.5 and I can easily fit about three pairs of shoes in it, so if you have smaller feet or are packing sandals or other thinner shoes, you can probably fit even more. I appreciate that I don’t have to worry about the bottoms of my shoes getting my clothes dirty, and I don’t have to wrap them in a separate bag. Not to mention, packing shoes with other items can be tricky!

To state the obvious, I think the lavender color is so adorable. It’s bright without being obnoxious, and it looks great with my black suitcase. It’s easy to spot in an overhead bin, and because the interior is the same light color, it’s not hard to find things inside.

My biggest gripe with bigger shoulder bags is that they tend to hurt my shoulders (because, yes, I overpack). With the florence by mills x DELSEY PARIS “Chill Out” Weekender Bag, the cushion on the detachable shoulder strap provides support without digging into my shoulder, making travel so much more comfortable. Of course, the lighter the bag is, the better!
