Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there. We bought our condo two years ago, downsizing from a large bungalow. The place was a rental, so very plain and simple — popcorn ceilings, old appliances, dark kitchen, and bathroom cabinets. I love renovations and I can do a lot myself. The popcorn ceilings I had a professional do it. The kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanity I painted myself, added a kitchen island, and had new quartz countertops installed in the kitchen and bathroom vanity. We bought new appliances. I painted the walls throughout. Changed all the lighting. Brought some pieces of furniture from the other house and decorated myself, added some artwork to give it some color. I just love decorating.

I like everything simple tucked in, light colors on the walls, but I think adding artwork to a home feels warm and inviting and “alive.”

What is your favorite room and why? My kitchen is my favorite because I love cooking.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? The last piece of furniture I bought was a console at the entrance, which I got from the disposal room in my building. It was in great condition so I painted it and displayed it. I love it.

Any advice for creating a home you love? My advice is just follow your instincts and be yourself.
