My husband’s hoarding habit paid off. Once I learned that the bed of a truck is the same size as a queen mattress we took his rusting 1965 Chevrolet truck and turned it into a guest bed!

We worked on this project together, it required sawing the cab (now it’s the headboard) in half; sawing the tailgate off the truck body; wire brushing the rust off , etc. We carried the pieces into the house where we put the truck together again.

Cost? Mostly our time- several afternoons. Also went through many saw blades. At the end, we bought a second hand queen bed frame for $100 to provide better stability to our project.

Thanks, Dona!
