Everyone already knows Gabrielle Union has an impressive fashion and interior design sense. So the perfectly-curated and displayed sneaker wall that appeared in one of Union’s most recent Instagram posts shouldn’t phase us. However, it definitely does.

In a Feb. 22 post announcing her partnership with LinkedIn, Union posed in front of a beautifully-lit wall of shelving, housing her collection of kicks.

Sneakerheads and organization lovers alike can appreciate the backdrop. The shelving, which was likely built custom to fit and show off shoes, includes lighting both above and below each shelf, which perfectly illuminates the colorful collection it houses.

If you have similar shelving at home (or even perhaps just a bookcase that needs a bit of a facelift), you can copy Union’s lighting set up with a simple strip of LED lights.

These lights are remote controlled and can be cut to custom lengths and offer a wide variety of different light settings. Simply use the sticky backing to secure the lighting under and on your shelving to get a similar effect seen on Union’s sneaker shelf.

Another option is to start from scratch. Etsy seller LyonsCrafted specializes in custom floating shelving that includes lighting on the underside. You can pick up pre-built shelves, which start at $75, or inquire to have shelving built to your custom dimensions (if you’re thinking of going the shoe-storage route).

The sneaker collection is impressive, the display is beautiful, and once again, Union has given her followers a lot to think/dream about.
