The January Cure is all about refreshing and organizing your home for 2019. We tackle one assignment each weekday throughout the entire month. It’s not too late to sign up, and you can visit the Cure page to catch up with the assignments so far.

We’re all strangers here on the internet. But because you’re an Apartment Therapy reader and doing the Cure with us, I know at least one thing about you: You are someone who truly cares about improving their home. And that’s something that should be celebrated.

One great way to celebrate your space—and stay motivated through the end of the Cure—is planning a get-together once we wrap up the end of the month. And, actually, to keep it up all the time. Having people over now and then can be incredibly motivating for your efforts to keep your home looking nice all year long.

You don’t have to be Martha or Ina—just plan whatever type of get-together you’d like. It can be a big party, or just a casual meeting. Dedicate an entire afternoon, or just 15 minutes after work. The size, time, and style of your thing is up to you. Book club, brunch, a Super Bowl party, wine after dinner out, coffee before softball practice, a Galentine’s day get-together, movie night, clothes swap, family dinner, game night, a kid’s birthday party—they’re all great ideas to get today’s Cure assignment going…

Today’s Assignment: Plan a get-together.

Plan a get-together to have a friend or two (or 10!) over during the first weekend of February (or whatever day works best for you near or after the end of the Cure).

This is a very real part of the Cure, so take a few minutes and get it done. Send out the invite—a text, email, or Facebook event is just perfect—and do it today.

Reading the comments over the years, I know many of you skip this one. And that’s totally fine. It would be hypocritical, after all the hype about acceptance and adapting the Cure to suit your lifestyle, to make this one assignment mandatory. But the end-of-Cure get-together serves an important function in keeping you committed and excited about your space.

So if you’re going to pass on today’s assignment, is there something else you can do or set up today to stay accountable for the rest of the month?

And for those of you embracing the art of the get-together, what are you cooking up? (Figuratively, or literally!)
