Welcome to Good News, a column that’s part-link roundup, part-community gratitude journal where we can all share the feel-good moments from the past seven days and end our week on a high note.

Happy last day of May, dear friends! It’s Tara, your News & Culture editor, here to get the Friday vibes flowing with some piping-hot good news. I’ll start it off, but feel free to share links, personal news, photos—whatever you’re excited about this week—in the comments.

This week, I, an Old, got a primer on Billie Eilish (lead image), someone who The Teens are Really Into. To quote my very on-the-pulse coworker Taryn, “Her lyrics are really resonating with Gen Z. When you sit down to listen, she’s singing about climate change and opioid addiction and suicide and really heavy stuff, in a really poignant way.”

After bingeing her album yesterday, I can confirm Taryn’s statement: “You Should See Me in a Crown is a BANGER.” For those who also need background and don’t have access to Taryn, Switched on Pop podcast did an episode on her in April. What are you listening to?

Anyway, on to the good news!

Speaking of Taryn, she was a guest on BuzzFeed News’ AM2DM today! You can catch her redecorating tips in the clip above.

Speaking of tunes, the under 13 crowd is really into Old Town Road.

This week, “America’s Got Talent” came back and one contestant, Kodi Lee, blew the judges away with his performance. Lee, who is blind and on the autism spectrum, even got a shout out from Oprah on Twitter.

This week, the Scripps National Spelling Bee ended in a historic way—with eight winners. The bee lasted 90 minutes longer than scheduled, and included a string of 47 correct answers, including omphalopsychite, Geeldikkop and auftaktigkeit.

I’ve died from cute. In this video, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s daughter Luna tells her grandma that she “knows everything,” including how to eat Pocky, Sour Patch Kids, and eggs. Same girl, same.

My “saved” tab on Instagram is mostly adorable animal videos. Here’s a good one for you. I would love to be on the receiving end of this “vicious” attack.

What’s giving you life this week? Share your good news in the comments!
