Skinny jeans have been dominating the denim world for some time now, and for good reason: they’re surprisingly flattering, and you can wear them with almost anything. But lately I’ve been seeing some new shapes that I’m really excited about — new styles (or reloads of old styles) that are just as versatile, and present a fresh new direction for your wardrobe. Here are 3 new denim styles to take your summer style to the next level.

High-rise, straight leg, cropped

A shorter length shows off just a bit of summer sandal: a high waist means these are super-versatile and perfect for wearing with boxy cropped tops. And the straight leg gives them a polished, classic feel.

Slouchy boyfriend

A classic style that’s back in a big way, boyfriend jeans add a slouchy, stylish twist to any outfit you’d usually wear skinnies with — or pair them with a fancier top for a bit of contrast. Look for: distressed details, slightly cropped lengths.

Wide leg

This is a fun new shape to experiment with: it feels a bit 70s but avoids being too costumey. Pair these with a fitted or cropped top to avoid a tentlike look — or, you know, if you’re into the tentlike look, then just go for it.
