Here’s Where to Find Deals on European Ceramics and Goods Without Traveling
Although predominantly a place to score designer-look furniture, home decor, and textiles for less, it’s no secret that HomeGoods has always had gourmet underpinnings. All it takes is a spin around your local brick-and-mortar’s food section to spot fun snacks, giftable pantry items, and fancy drink mixers you’d find in a high-end boutique. And the cookware and small appliances? Well, with the big name brands carried by the store nationwide, that’s top-notch, too. Now, HomeGoods is leaning a little more into this foodie flair by collaborating with James Beard award-winning Chef Mashama Bailey of The Grey restaurant fame on a once-in-a-lifetime (well, technically, twice) dining experience for a group of lucky HomeGoods superfans.
Called “A Taste of HomeGoods” and taking place on May 31 in Austin, Texas, the premise behind the 8-course dinner is a lot like a HomeGoods shopping trip. Attendees will progress through distinctly styled, Instagram-worthy spaces (all inspired by a key decor item) while eating their way through a tasting menu Bailey developed especially for this experience. The same way you never quite know what you are going to stumble upon at a HomeGoods store — and what inspiration it’ll spark in you — Bailey’s flavor profiles and pairings, too, will keep guests seeking and finding.
The only drawback? There are only two seatings — 6 and 9 p.m. ET — and a limited number of reservations for the $24.99 experience. Of course, you also have to be local to Austin, within driving distance, or willing to travel in the name of a very exclusive but accessibly priced HomeGoods experience. The brand is also keeping a waitlist in the event of cancellations.
