According to HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams, vintage hues are going to be all the rage next year. The paint brand just released its 2023 Color Collection of the Year, and 2023’s Vintage Homestead Collection includes 10 shades that are “balancing, hopeful and comforting,” invoking nostalgia from centuries past.

The Vintage Homestead Collection, being sold exclusively at Lowe’s, is inspired by heritage and romance. A mix of dark academia and cottagecore, the Vintage Homestead Collection is ideal for those who look to the past to find inspiration for the future.

HGTV by Sherwin-Williams’ 2023 Color of Year is a deep shade called Darkroom that can either read “formal study” or “modern bedroom.” It’s a comfortable dusty brown-black that pairs well with neutral tones for a warm, cozy feel in a space and doesn’t overwhelm in a “this room is now a black hole” way.

The other nine nature- and nostalgia-inspired colors that make up the Vintage Homestead Collection include:

  • Poetry Plum (HGSW6019)
  • Restrained Gold (HGSW6129)
  • Natural Linen (HGSW9109)
  • Cool Beige (HGSW9086)
  • Austere Gray (HGSW6184)
  • Pewter Green (HGSW6208)
  • Glamour (HGSW6031)
  • Wall Street (HGSW7665)
  • Hot Cocoa (HGSW6047)

All of the above are meant to inspire a warm feeling of bringing the outdoors in and instilling a sense of romance into every room in your home.

So if you’re looking to bring a vintage, nostalgic note to your space, head to your local Lowe’s store or Lowes.com to grab samples of the Vintage Homestead Collection hues. That cottagey, antique aesthetic from years past is making a comeback in a big way.
