LEGO Just Released a “Home Alone” Set, and It Doubles as an Advent Calendar
If your holiday season isn’t complete without rewatching “Home Alone” over and over (and over) again, you’re in for a treat. LEGO just debuted a “Home Alone” set that will allow you to relive one of the most epic holiday films in the form of building blocks.
Starting Nov. 1, you’ll be able to purchase the massive LEGO Ideas “Home Alone” set, which includes a whopping 3,955 pieces and five minifigures. The set is split up into 24 build bags so you can use it as an advent calendar, crafting a piece of the puzzle every day in the same order as the plot progresses.
The set comes with pieces to build the entire McCallister house, including Kevin’s treehouse and the Oh-Kay van parked outside. The five characters that come with the build include Kevin (both with his iconic jaw-dropped face and without), Harry, Marv, “Old Man” Marley, and Kevin’s mom Kate.
Once you’re done building, you’ll get to reenact the entire film and set up all of Kevin’s boobytraps from attic to basement to catch the Wet Bandits red-handed.
The LEGO Ideas “Home Alone” set was designed by LEGO Fan Designer Alex Storozhuk, who watches “Home Alone” every year during the holidays with his family. So he knew exactly what details were pertinent to include — from the light-up basement furnace to the torch that sears Harry’s bald head and the bandits’ crowbars.
The details included in this set are truly impressive, and building it will become a new holiday tradition. The LEGO Ideas “Home Alone” set will sell for $249.99, and you can purchase one online starting Nov. 1.
