6 Home Decor Shops Around the World I’d Love to Visit
If I could plan my international travel with the sole purpose of hitting all of the various home stores on my must-see list, you can bet I would do so. I may not have any overseas vacations planned in the coming months, but if I happen to make it to one of the countries below, I’ll do my absolute best to make the most of the local shopping scene. Below are six home decor stores I’m itching to visit in England, Italy, Spain, and beyond!
England: Cutter Brooks
I imagine Cutter Brooks as being straight out of a movie about a woman who relocates to the English countryside to open up the most charming little store… and honestly, that description doesn’t sound far from the truth! Owned by author and tastemaker Amanda Brooks, the shop offers homewares, giftables, clothing, and more. Pieces are definitely a splurge but would make for super-thoughtful presents for that host with the most in your life (or, you know, yourself).
France: Portobello
Please, someone, book me a plane ticket to Paris, and drop me off right in front of Portobello. As someone who loves to style shelves constantly, I could easily scoop up all of their chic vases, mirrors, and furniture items. I can tell this is the perfect place for someone like me to browse, and, at the very least, at least gather some inspo. There’s something for everyone though, too, whether your style leans traditional, modern, or somewhere in between.
Mexico: Decada
Decada offers beautiful, authentic mid-century modern pieces that any furniture enthusiast will totally love — think Thonet armchairs, Danish leather pieces, and other beautiful classics. There’s a reason MCM furnishings are so timeless, so if you haven’t worked any into your space yet, you may just wish to have a look around Decada’s website.
Denmark: ferm LIVING
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve shopped ferm LIVING’s website for years, but having the opportunity to visit the retailer’s flagship store in Copenhagen would be a total dream. If you’re like me and can’t get enough of darling ribbed glasses, fun barware, and other entertaining and household essentials, you’ll agree. I love how simple yet elevated ferm’s offerings are; they will appeal to minimalists and maximalists alike.
Italy: Laborotorio Paravicini
Located in Milan, Laborotorio Paravicini is chock full of beautiful plates and tableware items that are too pretty to be concealed behind cabinet doors. Choose from plates featuring whimsical patterns including hot air balloons, jungle animals, and so much more. The designs will delight young and old alike.
Germany and Spain: Home on Earth
With locations in Berlin and Barcelona, Home on Earth is a must-visit for small accessories including rattan lamps, colorful bowls, trinkets, and more. If your style leans bohemian, you’ll surely love the earthy, modern pieces for sale.
