Name: Anne & Nathan
Location: Bellevue, WA
Anne features her own kitchen as part of her tryout. She writes: Our 1976 tri-level boasts light-filled clerestory windows with views across Lake Washington’s largest freshwater wetlands as well as vaulted ceilings with exposed dark wood beams. But when it came to the interior design, this house reflected none of our design aesthetics. Having lived in San Francisco and Brooklyn…
…for over a decade, we’d honed in on our style of mixing the exclusive (designer furniture and lighting, modern hi-gloss objects) with the effortless (irregular textured cork and bald wooden bowls – a nod to our native Northwest roots). After living in the home for three years we decided to remodel the small galley-like kitchen to reflect our love of natural materials and revamp the entire first floor living/dining area, giving them greater access to the outdoors.
We’ve had amazing response to our Apartment Therapy House Tour Submission Form. While we will work with homeowners of our favorite homes to feature full tours, we will also share the best as House Calls — short, quick tours of readers’ homes. Submit your home here.
