Debbie and Devin met on the East Coast before moving to Chicago, where we toured their apartment and first saw this creative couple’s home style. From photography, to jewelry making to music, their Chicago home displayed their handiwork, and so does their current home in Michigan.

Debbie has a great eye, as evidenced by her photography, and it’s fun to see her translate her creativity into a three-dimensional space. They both always seem to find a way to make their home feel open and fresh.

Our Style: We like mixing textures. We tend towards a mostly modern aesthetic, punctuated with other styles and objects from our travels. We love decorating with books, plants, art and using natural materials as much as we can.

Inspiration: We are very inspired by the Japanese slow life / LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability)/ Zakka aesthetic.

Favorite Element: Covered porch

Biggest Challenge: Trying to find a place for all of our books!

What Friends Say: That our home is cozy.

Biggest Embarrassment: Our rental kitchen cabinets and surfaces are not very pretty. We could be better about dusting things, and patching up old holes in the walls.
