Plants. Plants. Plants. White walls. Art and Design. This minimalist Montreal apartment is tastefully styled by the talented exhibition designer of the Canadian Centre of Architecture. Designer and co-founder of bureau sacha von der potter in Geneva, Anh definitely knows about the delicate balance between negative and positive space.

Simplicity is the center of Anh’s design philosophy; she enjoys the fluidity and the interchangeability of her decor. For her, it’s important to keep the space as “a work in progress.” After living in Switzerland for more than seven years, Anh had to buy everything at once when she decided to come back to Montreal. She invested in a few key design pieces while shopping for more affordable ones at her favorite stores’ secret warehouse sales. For Anh, it’s all about keeping it simple and decorating your home according to your personal taste.

Apartment Therapy Survey:

Our Style: Simple; I like clean lines but I don’t want to live in an environment that is overthought. I like to keep it as a work in progress.

Inspiration: Art, design, and the tropical forest

Favorite Element: The big table in the dining room, a great collaboration between designer Ilse Crawford (STUDIOILSE) and IKEA.

Biggest Challenge: Having to buy everything at once because I had just moved back from Switzerland and had no furniture.

What Friends Say: If you ever decide to leave, can I move in?

Biggest Embarrassment: At first, I was embarrassed by most of the light fixtures, but they are slowly growing on me.

Proudest DIY: The small svdp holiday ceramics in my bedroom, a project made with my former office, bureau sacha von der potter.

Biggest Indulgence: The Menu Afteroom chairs

Best Advice: Keep it simple and take your time

Dream Sources: Ettore Sottsass / Memphis Group
