As a pattern designer, Mireia has an eye for mixing different textures and styles, and the beautiful Barcelona apartment she’s owned for over a decade has proven to be the perfect canvas for her to show off her styling skills.

Mireia came to be the owner of this apartment in an unusual way: She was on a trip to Cuba when her parents found this Barcelona apartment…and they immediately saw her living in it. When she finally saw the space, she also knew it was for her! Her personality permeates every inch of this home, not just in the decor, but in the architecture, too. And the fact that the apartment is located in the Gracia neighborhood — where she’s lived her entire life and loves — made buying this place a no-brainer.

In addition to being a designer, Mireia also has a startup called Social Monkis, where she is the stylist for lifestyle and fashion photo shoots.

Apartment Therapy Survey:

My Style: I think I’m a little romantic with a feminine style. I also like combining vintage with modern

Inspiration: I love AD magazine.

Favorite Element: My favorite element of the house is the deer head, because it belonged to my grandfather. I don’t like hunting at all, but this element reminds me of him and how important he was to me.

Biggest Challenge: Decorating my room. I’m always thinking how to distribute it in a different way. I’m still thinking!!!

What Friends Say: They like it a lot. I think they can feel the cozy vibe and the feeling of “home.”

Biggest Embarrassment: The second bedroom. It’s so tiny that I only use it as a storage room. [Not pictured.]

Proudest DIY: I really like the desk in the living room. It is an old door that I painted and converted into a desk. I also like the shelf at the entrance that we attached to the wall (it was my mom’s idea!); it is a leftover from the parquet floor.

Biggest Indulgence: The dining room ceiling light fixture! It was really expensive. But I’m very happy with it!

Best Advice: Don’t be afraid! The key is mixing and changing!

Dream Sources: I love a store called Antic Boutik.
