Eva’s aesthetic is a fast indicator that she works in art direction. Her current home isn’t very big, but it’s full of good design and lovely things. Having lived in Madrid, Gijon, Mallorca and Barcelona, her home also reflects her free-spirit. Her small apartment features posters brought from here and there, some artist’s illustrations, special objects and her vinyl records that go with her wherever she goes.
Eva works as curator publishing content strategist for Flipboard in Spain, and also freelances as an art director in the advertising field. She tells me that she prefers to float between advertising, art and journalism so she doesn’t get too bored. In addition, she still finds time to write in her own blog, esta es mi casa, where she compiles beautiful homes around the world where she would like to live.
While we are speaking, I had to ask her for the stories behind the other striking decoration in her home, her tattoos! She has no fewer than eighteen to date, like her name, date of birth, the name of her mother, some flowers inspired by Audrey Kawasaki, favorite songs like “Hands Playing Butterfly” from Efterklang and more. When asked why the red tattoos, she tells me that she is a huge fan of Brandon Boyd (from the band Incubus), who has some of his tattoos in red.
I admire her for her ability to move so easily, to live surrounded by beautiful things and be able to leave with only one suitcase with a few clothes to her next destination, and still keep her identity anywhere she goes.
Apartment Therapy Survey:
My Style: A mix of Nordic and natural with some vintage spots.
Inspiration: I love Scandinavian style philosophy. Mid-century furniture. Natural colors and wood. Light. My Pinterest. A mix of all is perfection.
Favorite Element: My bamboo stools. They belonged to my grandparents for almost 42 years. They are a reminder of all the fantastic summers I spent at their home when I was a child.
Biggest Challenge: Try not to kill my plants. I managed to recover a dead jasmine and a lemon tree. And now I have beautiful flowers and little lemons growing in my terrace. Also I’m so proud of my new baby avocado plant.
What Friends Say: My friend Sergi says going to Can Morell (yes, they named my house) is the meaning of a great day. This is a great definition I guess. I love having people at home, cooking, drink some wine, bbq at the terrace and share it with the people I love. They feel so comfortable. There are good vibes in this place, I really think that.

Biggest Embarrassment: I never go out from home without doing my bed.
Proudest: I finally found a place I can call “home” and it feels like a real home to me.
Biggest Indulgence: The sun over my terrace when I’m reading a book in my hammock. Best moment of the day even in Winter time.
Best Advice: Don’t be afraid of mixing styles and things. Don’t worry if you put together your favourite StarWars Pez sweets and a vintage camera. That is what makes a home.
