There are amazing people around the world; people with extraordinary talent. Ana is one of them. This incredible Panamanian woman has great energy and knows how to transform it into beautiful art pieces. She’s a woman with good taste and she’s committed to everything she does.

Art is Ana’s passion and she’s filled everything around her with that spirit. Color is always present in this home, just in different ways. Because she doesn’t like to get tied to only one kind of style, she isn’t afraid of creating spaces that mix a lot of pieces.

In her artwork, you can see bright and shiny colors, but in her home the tones are more neutral and the colors are darker and stronger. Materials and textures play a big part of the interior of her home. The strong colors are a canvas of which Ana has placed art and special pieces she’s collected over the years.

The art pieces she produces need a lot of space, that’s why she needed a big and separate studio to work. And I think this place is more like a sanctuary for her. A place where she can unleash her imagination. The truth is she doesn’t follow any trends, she likes authenticity and always being comfortable in simple, well-lighted and harmonious spaces.

Apartment Therapy Survey:

Our Style: Mix of old and new.

Inspiration: Movies, Spanish Magazines, Art…

Favorite Element: The big kitchen where we can cook and entertain at the same time.

Biggest Challenge: Decorating a big space with high ceilings and hoping it wouldn’t look empty. It’s still a work in progress.

What Friends Say: Can we go eat Fideua at your house on Sunday?

Biggest Embarrassment: My husband dropped half the paella he had cooked on the kitchen counter while the guests watched.

Proudest DIY: The apartment, we chose everything from the floors, doors, kitchen, bathrooms, etc.

Biggest Indulgence: When we have good wine, good food and great friends come over and stay from lunch to dinner and it becomes an all day and night event.

Best Advice: Take your time, mix old and new. Something has to be off, avoid perfection.

Dream Sources: Would love to buy furniture from: designartefact.com(Galerie Alexandre Guillemain) furniture from the 1940’s on. Discovered them through Instagram.
