The ocher color is the star of this house, defining edges and warming rooms. Paty is a painter and loves art so much, you can feel that passion the second you meet her. Her strong personality shows through in her home and in her beautiful art studio, where you can see all the amazing paintings she creates.

Paty’s home has the feel of an old Italian villa, but in the middle of Valencia. The ocher, orange and yellow tones (not to mention the beautiful light) create a perfect space to spark her imagination and inspire her to create beautiful paintings. Paty has honored the original structure of the home with her decor choices; she doesn’t want to change or replace anything. She respects the history from when this house was built centuries ago, and she tries to maintain all that history in her decor.

Her son, a musician from the band Polock, shares the space with her, and you can see that he loves art, interesting objects and warm colors, too. This amazing home is a statement of love to art, antiques, and keeping the history of home intact—using care to mix old and new trends.

Apartment Therapy Survey:

My Style: Eclectic.

Inspiration: Any in particular. I just like to introduce things in a natural way.

Favorite Element: The antique books from the library.

Biggest Challenge: Scraping the big wall of the studio. Was really, really hard to do it.

What Friends Say: Love the place. Really comfortable.

Biggest Embarrassment: “The panic room” with all the paraphernalia I don’t know where to store.

Proudest DIY: The big wall of the studio.

Biggest Indulgence: Painting in the studio or cooking in the kitchen. I love the feeling of being in an old house with lots of soul.

Best Advice: Never lose your own style even if you contract an interior designer. Make your place yours.

Dream Sources: I don’t like any in particular; I’m not a brand person. I just like things original and unique.
