Minimalism can be a peaceful, calming design style that can create a relaxed home. In Manfung and Angel’s home in Rotterdam, they combined minimal sensibilities with repurposed building materials and charming vintage finds. The result is a welcoming home.

Angel & Manfung are the owners of OHMYHOME, “an interior label from Dutch soil with the aim to create a place where people can find little treasures to spice up their home with.” They also share their style (and the transformation of their home) on their blog Inrichting-huis.com.

Manfung writes: “When we bought this 1900s home in 2010, we started our own blog to share our inspiration for our home. The home needed a total renovation: New kitchen, new bathroom, new walls, new wooden floor, new doors, etc. The goal was to create a bright, Scandinavian-inspired home.”

I think they achieved the look! You can see the before photos of this home on their blog.

Apartment Therapy Survey:

Our Style: Scandinavian, light, clean

Inspiration: Scandinavian interiors

Favorite Element: Custom made TV stand with lots of storage space

Biggest Challenge: The narrow staircase that leads into our home. We had to rent a special elevator to bring the furniture in through the window upstairs.

What Friends Say: Cosy home with quirky details

Biggest Embarrassment: After 7 years, we still haven’t changed one of the old pendant lights above the stairs

Proudest DIY: Wardrobe in bedroom

Biggest Indulgence: The natural daylight in every single room.

Best Advice: Get inspired before starting to decorate.

Dream Sources: Renovated farmhouse
