Name: Hannah and Jean Puechmarin
Location: Brisbane, Australia
Size: Two bedroom house
Years lived in: Rented for one year
If a passer-by looked at this home, all they would see is a house with peeling paint. But don't we always say that it is what's on the inside that counts? My husband Jean and I (along with our puppy, Arthur) were on the hunt for a home with character. When my friend said she would be moving out of her 1920s rental property, I quickly pounced and secured the house as our own rental after no one else turned up!
Whilst the home has peeling paint on the outside, some floorboards don't quite meet the walls, and windows need a good slam to close properly...me and Jean have made a home for the past 12 months in this misshapen house. The home is full of warm colours and wooden tones, balanced by a bounty of house plants.
