Kendall Jenner recently bought a Hollywood Hills home formerly owned by Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, and the famous model has been doing some decorating. Jenner updated her app this week with the details, sharing that almost all of the pieces in her new living room are from Restoration Hardware, with one exception—the $52,000 Boa sofa, designed by the Campana brothers. We are definitely fans of a funky sofa, but wondered: just how many other sofas could $52,000 buy? We did the math.

Designed in 2002, the Boa is a “soft woven nest” made of 100 meters of tubular velvet that takes four people to weave into this iridescent pile. It’s definitely impressive, and definitely out of the question for most mortal humans.

We took 6 notable sofas from favorite designers and affordable retailers alike, and found out just how many of each of them $52,000 could buy.

Designed in 1968, this quirky two-piece vertical sculpture joins the Boa on our weird and wonderful sofa roundup. But at only $16,610, you could buy three of them for $52K.

4.45 Noguchi Free Form sofas

Noguchi designed his organically-shaped sofa for Vitra in 1946, and just one will set you back $11,675.

8.4 Womb Settees

Eero Saarinen designed the Womb chair at the request of Florence Knoll in 1948. These days, the settee version starts at $6,194 at DWR.

10.51 RH Cloud sofas

This is the other sofa Kendall picked for her living room. We actually tested the Cloud at Apartment Therapy HQ, and it got high marks. While the modular pieces start under $800, you can get 10 and a half of the full $4,950 leather version for the price of one Boa.

28.9 Maxwell sofas

Of course, we wondered just how many of Maxwell’s sofa for Interior Define we could get for $52K. Answer: almost 30.

173.9 IKEA KLIPPAN loveseats

At $299, IKEA’s ubiquitous loveseat is one of the most inexpensive seating options on the market. So when compared with the five-figure Boa, you’ll get enough KLIPPANs that when placed end to end, will stretch for over 1,000 feet and seat nearly 540 people.
