When I envision tech pieces, I often think of clean lines, minimalism, and dark gray or black colors. While they’re functional, they’re not necessarily the most aesthetically pleasing pieces. But IKEA flipped that visual on its head with the brand-new BLOMPRAKT Bluetooth speaker, which has more capabilities than just playing music.

What Is the IKEA BLOMPRAKT Bluetooth Speaker?

The BLOMPRAKT, which is a part of IKEA’s smart home launch, is both a Bluetooth speaker and a lamp. It comes in a cool baby blue as well as beige and black, and is super easy to use. Simply turn it on and adjust the volume using the single knob located on the front of the lamp. Then, press and hold the button below to adjust the light’s brightness.

The cord can be switched around so you can position the lamp in a variety of different ways to direct sound where you need it, and you can even link the speaker to your Spotify with the Spotify Tap function that allows you to control your music using the tap feature on the lamp.

People in Seth’s comment section were impressed by the speaker, too. “Such a fun piece,” one person commented on Seth’s post, with another person saying, “This is so cooool.”

In the comments of his post, Seth reported that the BLOMPRAKT is a “pretty neat little design, [and] it gets LOUD too,” so you’re not sacrificing sound quality for style. And when you’re ready to wind down with some peace and quiet, disconnect the speaker and use the light for reading or as a nightlight.
