I share our home with my husband and our 7-year-old whippet, Jon. We make and sell farmhouse tables and benches. We all need and crave peace and tranquility so I try and decorate with simplicity in mind. I try and keep our home consistent throughout with a fairly neutral color scheme. I love decorating and always have so my biggest thrill is redesigning the shelves we put up in the living room or adding molding to the walls or building the kitchen island. Such fun!

Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Farmhouse, classic, comfortable, shabby chic, simple.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? I change things a lot. Sometimes we make something if I can’t find the right thing in a store. I recently bought the two “X” leg ottomans in the living room. Having two is much more versatile than one long bench. It was from a local store so no links available.

If you could magically change something about your home, what would it be? I really love our home. Sometimes I wish it was closer to town as we drive a lot. I love that it’s ours and we can change it whenever we want.

Any advice for creating a home you love? Don’t be afraid to change things out as many times as you like. Also, don’t feel you have to decorate for any one but you… Be true to who you are. Be brave, be daring… It’s only decor so it can all be changed.

What is your favorite room and why? I love the bedroom. It feels so peaceful and serene. I try to carry a consistent vibe throughout the house but it’s easier in the bedroom.
