I Can’t Believe This DIYer’s Stunning Vase Is Made from 2 IKEA Finds (It Looks So Expensive!)
In the same way a frame can add a pop of something special to a piece of art, a vase can really take a flower arrangement from good to great. Case in point: This DIY vase Instagram user Melike Dursun crafted from an IKEA lampshade adds a dose of wow to what was once a basic piece.
All Dursun did to create this artsy vase was pick up two items from IKEA — the KALLFRONT lampshade and the set of CYLINDER vases. Dursun posted the creation on Instagram, and it looks way more expensive than its $50 total price tag.
“@melikeskids shared This clever IKEA KALLFRONT pendant lampshade hack turns lighting into a stylish vase!” a recent IKEA Hack caption reads. “With a simple spray of white paint (or keep it as is), this easy DIY transforms the lampshade into a unique flower holder. It’s a perfect way to add a touch of creativity to your decor.”
“Very clever!!” one person commented on the post. Another said, “This is a great decorating idea.”
The KALLFRONT shade comes in black and is available in two different sizes (which could make for a cool centerpiece if you combine the two). You can spray-paint the shades any color you want, but the basic black would work really well in rustic farmhouse, mid-century, or Scandi-inspired interiors.
Melike picked up the CYLINDER vase set from IKEA, too, but you may already have a glass vase that fits perfectly into the KALLFRONT shade, so do some experimenting!
Give your flowers their very own ornate gilded frame with this super-easy IKEA hack, and all your guests will be asking where the heck did you get THAT? And then you can do your favorite thing ever and tell them that you made it.
