IKEA’s New Quiz Will Help You Love Your Space More
We all know that it takes work (a LOT of work) to create a space that we can truly call “home.” It’s not only about the physical appearance, but the emotional response that occurs within the four walls. It’s the place that we retreat to after a long day, where we can truly be ourselves without an ounce of effort.

And in order to gain such a great sense of home, we must first discover what that feeling of home is—a task that is not easy to achieve. And that’s where IKEA’s new tool comes in.
As part of their 2018 Life at Home Report, IKEA has launched an interactive platform that “helps you get to the heart of how your home really feels,” according to a press release. Once you start the experience, you are asked to respond to various statements using a sliding scale—ranking things like how strongly your space reflects your persona to how safe and grounded you feel.
After answering five statements, your priorities are revealed based on five core needs that make up the “feeling of home:” belonging, security, comfort, privacy, and ownership. Then, your results are mapped out visually to show what core needs you have met and which ones you need to work on.
But the experience doesn’t stop there. Once you have read a deeper description of your results, you can get tips from a resident expert on how to enhance the feeling of home inside and outside of your space. Also, you can “see your manifesto,” which gives you various declarations of what your intentions are going to be moving forward. Print them out, put them on your wall, and let it serve as a reminder to actively work on enhancing your emotional connection to home.
If you’re curious as to where your relationship lies within your own home, we won’t keep you waiting any longer. Check the experience out here.
