IKEA Is Going Green for Black Friday with “Sustainable Living Shops”
IKEA is celebrating Black Friday by going green. And as part of the affordable furniture retailer’s monthlong quest to invite customers to shop sustainably, IKEA is launching Sustainable Living Shops within all IKEA stores that will be filled with earth-friendly products perfect for gifting this holiday season.
IKEA’s Sustainable Living Shops are stocked with products that are geared toward green living and offer information and tips on how to make sustainability more affordable and attainable for the average person. The shops will demonstrate energy and water-saving solutions, give tips for reducing food waste, and show how to build daily habits that are beneficial for both the individual and the plant.
From Nov. 26 through Nov. 29, IKEA will offer IKEA Family members discounts on sustainable home solutions that use renewable resources, combat pollutants, or are made from recycled materials. Plus, IKEA’s Buy Back & Resell officially launched in 33 stores throughout the U.S. on Nov. 1, which gives customers the option to sell back their gently used IKEA furniture in exchange for store credit.
IKEA’s Green Friday initiative is part of the brand’s goal to become a circular and climate positive business by 2030 and becoming net-zero by 2050. “We want to help create a sustainable movement in society, and inspire our customers to acquire, care for and pass on IKEA products in more sustainable ways,” says Javier Quiñones, IKEA U.S. President and Chief Sustainability Officer.
Help both your family and IKEA go green this holiday season by checking out the Sustainable Living Shops and learning more about how you can make the planet a healthier and happier place to live.
