Here Are More Items Coming From IKEA and Swedish House Mafia’s Music Inspired Furniture Collection

House music group Swedish House Mafia teamed up with IKEA to design a collection of furniture pieces and interior accessories with up-and-coming DJs and musicians in mind. 

Three pieces from the collection, dubbed OBEGRÄNSAD, were revealed on June 9 at the IKEA Festival at Milan Design Week 2022, and those with music on the brain will love the sleek and thoughtful design.

Along with a remix of the IKEA FRAKTA bag, which debuted in May, Swedish House Mafia is also releasing a desk, chair, and record player with the home furnishings company, all designed with sleek, black lines, simple shapes, and the idea that everyone should have access to great furniture and accessories that will aid them in their creative journey.

“The design supports creating, playing, enjoying and even just setting the mood,” Swedish House Mafia said in a press release.

With the OBEGRÄNSAD desk, Swedish House Mafia and IKEA in-house designer Friso Wiersma wanted to ensure producers and musicians have ample space on the desktop without losing any functionality.

‘“Sound is everything in music, and we have added two speaker stands to the desk in order to bring the speakers to the ear level,” Wiersma said. “We have also added a pull-out shelf below the desktop. This functionality allows you to have a midi keyboard, for example, in easy reach, while maximising space on your desktop.”

The OBEGRÄNSAD chair was designed for musicians to sit back, relax, listen, and get into the mood to create. Straps are adjustable so those sitting in them can achieve maximum comfort.

And the OBEGRÄNSAD record player is just as sleek and streamlined and works with IKEA’s ENEBY speaker.

The full collection of 20 pieces Swedish House Mafia designed with IKEA, all set at affordable prices, will be released in Fall 2022. And though the pieces were made with music producers and creators in mind, the modern look will draw in a wide variety of design appreciators.
