Whether or not your new year’s resolution is to catch more ZZZs, you may want to use January as a time to stock up on new linens for your sleep space and beyond. “Replace any stained, soiled, or faded linens, towels, sheets, and bedding,” suggests designer Sallie Lord, the founder of Grey Hunt Interiors. Brighten up gloomy days by investing in some new green friends. “Caring for new plants and watching something grow during the coldest part of the year can be just the thing you need during the long, cold winter months,” says designer Cheryl Luckett, the founder of Dwell by Cheryl. This snake plant should be easy to care for and charming in an empty corner that gets some sun.

Give those built-ins some love this year. “After the holiday decor has come down, everything feels bare — a refresh is always a good idea,” says designer Traci Connell, the founder of Traci Connell Interiors, who is in the market for new statement pieces.
