Name: Jenn Deese
Location: Pico/Robertson Area, Los Angeles, California
I live in a large one bedroom apartment (about 900 square feet) in Los Angeles’ Pico/Robertson area. I’ve been here for about a year, and my apartment has been ever evolving since I got here!
One amazing feature of my apartment is the fact that I’ve got an incredible amount of natural light that comes in through big bay windows in the front of the apartment. Because of that I wanted to keep it light and bright, and decided not to paint any of the walls. I’m lucky that the space itself has such great bones, being built in the early 1940s it has incredible wainscoting and crown molding which helped the decision to keep the walls white.
My personal style is really whimsical, fun and a little glam so I incorporated tons of bright pops of color through accessories. I love toys and my little collection is featured pretty prominently throughout my home. I’m also an artist and created most of the artwork myself to fit the space. One of my favorite things is my gallery wall of Marc Jacobs ads that I’ve been ripping out of magazines and collecting since I was like 14 years old (he’s my favorite of all time!).
The living room and dining room are definitely my favorite spaces and are the two rooms I’ve included pictures of attached. I love my dining room table which I had custom built by an amazing guy in Long Beach who makes these beautiful rustic tables without charging an arm and a leg! The dining room is a little more country chic I’d say – I wanted to keep it bright so I used sheers on the windows and incorporated a little bit of copper details to give a nod to my southern/country family heritage.
Thanks, Jenn Deese!
