Late night fixture Jimmy Kimmel will be coming into our homes tonight as the host of the 90th Academy Awards. So it's only fair that we get to go into his. Let's take a look at Jimmy's style throughout the years, courtesy of real estate listings and a little help from two very big pop stars.
Jimmy bought this house in the Hollywood Hills in 2002 for $925,000 and completely remodeled it, adding the gourmet kitchen and that bar with a view. Another notable update is the spa master bathroom with freestanding tub/open shower combo. Jimmy hasn't lived here since 2008, when he bought his current house (below). This one went on the market in 2012 and again in 2014, finally selling for $2.38 million in 2016.
Kimmel bought this modern five bedroom, five bathroom in 2008 for $6 million. It's also in the Hollywood Hills, but in a more posh location near Chateau Marmont. In 2011, he snatched up the 1,962 square foot three bed three bath directly next door for $1.1 million. He still lives there (as of 2016, at least), from what we can tell from a few visits from some famous friends.
Jimmy loves a good prank, so for April Fools Day 2015, Rihanna decided to play one on him. With the help of his wife, Riri and a bunch of dancers snuck into Jimmy's bedroom to wake him up at one in the morning with Bitch Better Have My Money.
You can see the floating stairs from the listing when Molly lets Rihanna and crew in, and as they're sneaking up them, we're glad to confirm there's a glass railing. At the top of the landing and in the hall are photo collages, and when Molly opens the bedroom door, we spot the unmistakable silhouette of an Eames lounge chair.
As the music blasts and lights start flashing, Jimmy blinks awake and we see a reclaimed wood headboard flanked by two black accordion sconces. A dresser on the left has a large rectangular mirror above it, and to the left of that appears a tallish flat file, possibly light blue. Riri demands her money, and then everyone has a little chat downstairs where we can see a light colored sectional, mid-century credenza, and several large pieces of art.
Fast forward to 2016, where Jimmy is awakened by a different pop star, this time Britney Spears. She and her dance crew are escorted to the bedroom and we see that the Kimmels have done some redecorating. The headboard is now a dark, channel tufted (possibly) velvet, the sconces are brass, and there's a new dresser topped with matching lamps flanking a large round mirror.
Downstairs, we see a grid of uplight sconces on the wall with the stairs, an octagonal accent table, a swing arm floor lamp, and a tufted leather chaise. There also appears to be a healthy fiddle leaf fig in the corner—so on trend.
