Who says celebrity home tours can’t be relatable? Julia Fox, that’s who. This week, the actress gave her 1.6 million TikTok followers a candid tour of her New York City apartment, and its realistically lived-in rooms were an unexpected yet welcome departure from the posed aesthetics of many an A-list Architectural Digest tour.

“Come with me on a very underwhelming apartment tour!” she wrote in the caption. “Also to clarify I only have ONE mouse and he’s cute.”

“I never thought in a million years that I would do this, but I do believe in maximum transparency. And so I’m going to give you guys an apartment tour,” Fox says at the beginning of the video. “I know I’m going to get roasted or whatever, but hopefully someone can watch this and think, ‘Okay, maybe I’m not doing so bad.”

She kicks things off in her living room, which she transformed into a makeshift bedroom so she could turn her own bedroom into a playroom for her 2-year-old son, Valentino, complete with a jungle gym and toddler-sized scooter. Fox’s room also features a golden mirror she calls her “nostalgia corner,” which features pictures of Valentino as well as some of her late friends.

But perhaps the most relatable corner of the apartment is Fox’s dresser, which houses two small plants. In her words, it’s “a little grow station where nothing is growing.”

Next up is the kitchen, which is home to a cotton candy machine and several shoe boxes — a storage solution that Fox quips is “very common for New Yorkers.”

Moving along the hallway to her son’s room, the actress also shouted out some artwork on her walls, including a photo of two Barbie dolls that reminds her of her and her friend Brittany.

According to Fox, Valentino’s room is the room in the apartment that she “put the most effort” into. It’s filled with bookcases, stuffed animals, a white loft bed, and a train set.

Although the “Uncut Gems” star admits she has a “small mouse problem,” Fox has found the silver lining in her situation. After all, they pick up crumbs! But in her opinion, she’d rather deal with a mouse or two than pursue a lavish, larger-than-life home.

“For me personally, I don’t like excessive displays of wealth,” Fox adds. “They make me feel icky, especially people who have really big houses. It’s just wasteful when there’s so many homeless people in this country, and I am just not really like that.”

Plenty of Fox’s followers certainly seemed to enjoy her reliably candid anecdotes.

“She’s just like us fr,” one TikTok user commented, while another added: “So nice to see that your place is not a curated museum-like flat, but a really cozy place where you actually live and enjoy 🫶🫶🫶.”
