Even Kellie Brown—lifestyle blogger and founder of AndIGetDressed—admits that her blog started out as just a way to show off what she’s wearing… but it has turned into so much more. Especially after starting her YouTube channel (over 33,000 subscribers and counting), where videos feature her infectiously positive energy, fashion tips, and more. Kellie admits her blog has transformed into the kind of digital space “where I want to inspire women to live their best life, no matter what their size, their color, their situation.”

In a similar way, a home can be more than just the place your stuff lives and where you sleep. No matter the location, what it looks like, or who you share it with, there are things you can do to improve your home so that it’s the kind of place that inspires you to live your best life. The rooms of your home can function as different things, to serve your life’s needs.

Kellie’s philosophies about fashion and her blog extend to her home, located in the Sugar Hill neighborhood of Manhattan, too. Her living room also doubles as a workspace and is often the backdrop to many of her YouTube videos. A wall shelf vignette is more than just an art installation; it’s a visual reminder to “Stay Thirsty.” And a super-long hallway isn’t just for getting in and out of the apartment: It’s a perfect runway for sashaying down in the latest outfit.

Kellie explains that one of the aesthetic goals for her home was for it to feel “serene,” and she hit that mark with layers of soft textiles and shades of white combining to create a soothing living room and even more relaxing bedroom. And while she jokingly remarks that the amount of clothing she owns is “obscene,” her clothing storage is simple and functional: A well-organized closet neatly stores colorful hanging clothes, and two dressers in the bedroom allow room for easy-to-grab items.

On her website, she writes that she’s “a communications super woman specializing in influencer outreach, strategic partnerships, branding marketing, and public relations.” But to her many fans and followers, but her talents go beyond just stellar clothing content creation. She is an inspiration! And so is her home.

Thanks, Kellie!
