This Laundry Detergent Smells So Good, It’s Like “Summer in a Bottle”
I love doing the laundry. My favorite part is smelling the fresh, clean detergent scent on clothes or linens when I take them out of the dryer — or, better yet, when I put them on. And when summer rolls around, I also like to change up my detergent to something extra-fragrant to further combat those pesky summertime sweat odors and stains. Thankfully, my go-to detergent for the season, Koala Eco’s Laundry Wash, truly smells like summer in a bottle.
Why I Love the Koala Eco Laundry Wash
I was already familiar with Koala Eco, an eco-friendly, non-toxic home essentials brand, after trying their kitchen cleaner a couple of years ago (it’s still one of my favorites to this day), so I had high hopes when I saw they had a natural laundry wash. Here’s why I love it so much.
It smells really good.
As soon as I opened the bottle, I was allured by the combination of zesty lemon, fresh and uplifting eucalyptus, and a touch of earthy rosemary. This clean fragrance doesn’t overwhelm, but I can still notice its pleasant and subtle scent on clothes and linens.

I don’t typically opt for eco-friendly or natural laundry products, but I like that this one is enzyme-powered and biodegradable, and the bottle is made of 100% post-consumer recycled material. Additionally, this detergent is effective with cold, warm, and hot water, and it’s safe for sensitive skin (which means it’s also great for hand-washing clothes!).
It gets things so clean.
Because the formula is ultra-concentrated, I fill the bottle cap (about a tablespoon’s worth) and toss it into the washer before adding my clothes or linens. I especially love washing my sheets and towels with this detergent during the summer.
