Name: Kristy
Location: Morningside — Edina, Minnesota

We bought our 1928 Dutch Colonial home about five years ago. We were relocating back to the Twin Cities from Boston and I was five months pregnant with our son, Harrison. The moment that I stepped foot into the house and saw light pouring in through the living room windows, I knew this was our home.

All the great built-ins further sealed the deal. Never mind that it didn’t have central air, a paved driveway, or a two-car garage (remember that we live in Minnesota). Someday we hope to add those things as our budget allows.

It’s a fairly modest Midwest home, which we love. The smaller size has forced us to get really creative in how we utilize our space and get a bit ruthless about clutter. We subscribe to the “have nothing in your home that you don’t know to be useful or believe to be beautiful” philosophy.

What I love most about our home is that it is a cozy and peaceful space where family and friends come together to laugh, share stories, and just breathe a little deeper.

Thanks, Kristy!
