This LEGO Fridge Has a Working Ice Dispenser, and You Have To See It
We’d open it all the time even if we’re not hungry or bored.
LEGO master builder and TikTok content creator @masterbuilder_alec has gone viral on the social media platform, thanks to his microscale model of a refrigerator with a fully-functioning ice dispenser.
In a video that now has more than five million views, we see the appliance’s double doors opening to reveal its features and contents. It has shelves, a produce drawer, and a freezer, all stocked with various LEGO food items such as a cake, fruits and veggies, condiments, sports drinks, and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Also, did you see the penguin in the freezer?
For the lights, since the model doesn’t run on electricity, he cleverly put in a skylight to illuminate the interior.
The best part is definitely the ice dispenser, which at first glance, only appears to be decorative. However, when he presses a button, ice cubes made from LEGO bricks come out and spill all over the floor. I guess you could say it’s surprisingly cool!
According to its creator, the LEGO refrigerator took 16 hours to design and build, with half of that time spent on figuring out how to make the ice machine work like a regular-sized one.
“This is definitely one of my most popular [models], one of my personal favorites,” he said, before adding that, just like everyone else’s fridge, he still needs to stock his LEGO version with more food.
A refrigerator with an ice dispenser that actually works and with food that never spoils? We hope LEGO makes this model available to everyone soon!
