Comedian Lilly Singh’s Eclectic Home Includes Colorful Furniture and a Jungle Gym Treehouse
A pantry full of only macaroni and cheese, Warhol-esque art prints of her dog, and a treehouse that serves as an outdoors writers room are just a few of the eclectic components of Lilly Singh’s home—appropriately coined the “fun house” by the comedian. Singh recently welcomed viewers into her second home and set for her NBC late night talk show, “A Little Late With Lilly Singh,” prior to the second season’s Jan. 11 premiere. The design consensus? The colorful abode is fitting for the colorful TV personality.
As mentioned, the home isn’t Singh’s primary residence. (The comedian did, however, recently purchase a lavish Studio City home in Los Angeles back in March.) The colorful pad—equipped with a fully stocked bar, colorful furniture, and indoor swings—is used for filming Singh’s talk show and financed by NBC, hence the on-site TV edit room and treehouse writers’ room to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines. Still, the house—designed by production designer Bonnie Bacevich—is whimsical. High-ceilings, a spiral staircase with wrought-iron railings, and an impressive shoe wall are among the features.
Other delightful decor decisions include light up letters in the bar area that reads “Chak De”—Punjabi for “raise the roof!” according to the comedian—and a light installation shaped in the form of clouds. “People often tell me that I keep my head in the clouds because I have crazy ideas and I want to reach for the stars,” Singh explains of the cloud light fixture. “They say, ‘Get your head out of the clouds!’ but I think it’s a complement. My head in the clouds—that’s exactly where I want my head!”
Out in the backyard, a treehouse complete with a yellow slide doubles as a writers room for the “A Little Late” staff. “With COVID, it’s so hard to get people into one room, but when you’re outside, you have a little more freedom to be safe,” Singh says from the treehouse and jungle gym dwelling. A pool and basketball court are also some of the outdoor amenities. Take a full tour of Singh’s colorful and eclectic “A Little Late” abode in the video above.
