Amanda Jennings and her husband Corey have always “shared a love for collecting thoughtful pieces,” and, perhaps most importantly, incorporating those treasured items into their everyday home and life.

The couch is by West Elm.

“Our apartment became a home — and then, slowly, it became something more: Villa Rowena,” Amanda begins of the 950-square-foot, two-bedroom Los Angeles apartment they’ve been renting for two years now.

"The peel-and-stick tiles in our kitchen were life-changing," Amanda admits. "We’ve also changed every door handle, every door hinge, painted our doors, and replaced the lighting all throughout our space. My husband is a cinematographer, so lighting is extremely important in our home. It truly changes everything!"

The 1950s-era apartment was a “very simple, blank canvas” when they moved in, but after incorporating both their personalities into the space, Amanda says they’ve created something beautiful.

The table is from Anthropologie, and the wall shelves are from Magnolia.

“I’m drawn to fresh florals, warm colors, and the beauty of mixing old and new — creating spaces that feel collected over time rather than simply decorated,” Amanda, who has a background in fine arts, writes. “I have a deep love and appreciation for art, craftsmanship, and the history behind the pieces we choose to surround ourselves with.”

"My advice is to take your time and collect pieces that truly feel like you," Amanda writes. "A home doesn’t need to come together all at once. Let it evolve with you, filling it slowly with things you love, pieces that tell a story, and little treasures that make your space feel entirely your own."

“I find beauty in objects that carry a story, but also in the simple, everyday things that make life feel meaningful. At the heart of it all is my love for creating a home that feels cozy, safe, and deeply personal — a place for comfort, creativity, and inspiration.”

“Over time, our home became a reflection of that love: cozy, collected, and filled with objects, stories, and details that feel meaningful to us. Our apartment became a cozy warm and inviting place that we call home.”
