If you’re flying home for Thanksgiving this year, then the fear of flight delays and cancellations is probably looming in the back of your mind. Airline travel spikes during the holiday season, and Wednesday, November 23, is often the busiest travel day out of the year, which could spell chaos for hopeful travelers.

To help anyone left in the lurch this Thanksgiving, Lowe’s and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts have decorated airport hotel rooms in five cities nationwide to make those layovers a bit less depressing for those who enter their last-minute giveaway.

The Lowe’s x Wyndham Hotels Home Layover partnership transformed regular airport hotel rooms into holiday getaways using shoppable Lowe’s items including Christmas trees, wreaths, themed bedding, and twinkle lights.

“While even our Holiday Home Layover experience cannot replace the feeling of being with loved ones during the holidays, it will surely bring some warmth,” Jen Wilson, SVP Enterprise Brand and Marketing at Lowe’s, said via a press release. “We’re thrilled to have the chance to provide select travelers with a memorable holiday experience – not just through our surprisingly beautiful holiday décor offerings, but also our traditional home improvement offerings, electronics and more.”

Travelers who experience flight delays or cancellations on Wednesday, November 23, can enter for their chance to stay in one of 50 Holiday Home Layover rooms in their city — New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, or Miami — by entering their information into the Lowe’s x Wyndham website. The first ten eligible travelers per participating Wyndham hotel will win a once-in-a-lifetime hotel stay.

Even though nothing can replace the warmth of home and family, Lowe’s and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts have gone above and beyond to make an upsetting situation so much more cozy.
