A Miami-based artist and textile designer, Èlan Byrd sells handmade collages, art prints and raffia wall hangings that are to die for. The organic texture and warm colors in her work pair perfectly with the light and airy, laid-back aesthetic that home decor brand Lulu and Georgia is known for. And now, they’re collaborating on an exclusive collection that launches today. It’s a match made in (neutrals) heaven!

While Byrd has been independently selling her art for years, this is her first full foray into the world of home decor, for which her patterns have been translated onto a tightly edited assortment of five rugs and three pillows. If you’re a fan of her signature tonality, you’ll love these textiles: they have abstract prints and adhere to a white, tan, brown, and black palette that plays well with lots of styles of decor, even more color-forward interiors.

Although the official launch is today, this project has been in the works for a while. According to Byrd, this collaboration was done entirely over Zoom. “This collection is such a beautiful marker of time for me,” she says. “These designs are reflective of my journey as an artist and also of the times we all shared through 2020.”

As a Black woman, Byrd says her biggest inspiration for the collection was a combination of “the traveled path of our ancestors mixed with the ancient dwellings in which they built along the way.” It’s hard for Byrd to play favorites, but if she had to pick just one piece, it’d be the Cayon Pillow. “Whether it’s the terracotta or olive colorway, this pillow is perfect for anyone looking to add a touch of warmth to their space,” she says.

Her second must-have from this collection? Any one of the monochromatic two-tone rugs. “The Nomad and Oasis Rugs are both unique and neutral patterns that strike the balance between being bold and subtle,” she says.

Byrd describes her personal design style as an eclectic blend between earthy and modern, and that’s exactly what you can expect with this collection. Prices start at $98 for pillows and top out at $3,998 for larger rugs. Each style is inspired by Byrd’s distinctive natural fiber artwork, and again, is available exclusively at Lulu and Georgia for order.
