We Need These Custom-Made Luxury Dog Retreats to Come in Human Sizes
Doesn’t every good dog deserve a stylish abode, especially with National Dog Day right around the corner? Well, get ready for some serious inspo: HGTV’s Alison Victoria is auctioning off five luxury dog retreats this month to help raise funds for the ASPCA. Part of the KILZ “Every Dog Is Worth It” campaign, the dog houses are designed with an expert attention to detail and execution of good taste.
Each were done by the Los Angeles-based studio Pijuan Design Workshop, who spoke to Apartment Therapy about the building process. “Style and functionality are our leading factors to implementing the Mid-century modern aesthetic,” said Pijuan. “We work on creating special moments with our interior pieces that not only work with most interior palettes, but also stand out as works of art.”
Pijuan and his team put love into each of these dog houses with KILZ primer that keeps them free of stains and odors while making sure the paint finish is long-lasting. “Being able to provide a sense of home for our pets creates a bond between your love for them and their appreciation for you,” said Pijuan.
“The spaces and feelings [Alison Victoria] is able to create with her homes lend themselves well to creating a small space for a dog. With her love for pets and her keen eye for design we were able to combine that with our design and build knowledge and create dog retreats that rival our own. It is a place they themselves can call home.”
These pet abodes truly do embody the feeling of home. And Pijuan is right: these incredible doghouses absolutely rival human houses! Well, they rival mine, at least. (#sendmoreKILZ)
