A $24 Amazon Find Adds Instant Cottagecore Vibes to Any Kitchen (No Reno Needed!)
If you’re trying to achieve an old-world feel in your kitchen, then you already know how much of a drag stainless steel appliances can be. But before you set aside any money for a remodel (they are perfectly good appliances, after all!), you might want to check out a one-minute DIY that will make your kitchen feel so cozy. In fact, you might actually like the look of this accessory even more than you would a new dishwasher!
“I don’t mean to offend you, but your appliances are ugly,” Instagram user Isabella Dianne said in a recent video. “So if there’s any way we can upgrade them on a budget, of course I’m going to show you. This is a magnet dishwasher curtain … it’s a super easy way to add charm to your kitchen, especially if you can’t remodel.”
Give Your Dishwasher a Cottagecore Makeover in Seconds
The magnetic curtain road Isabella used is one from Amazon, and it will only set you back $24. It’s designed to be used on metal windows and doors, but it also works fabulously on stainless steel appliances. The length can be adjusted and set between 16 and 28 inches, and it comes in three different metallic finishes — gold, nickel, and black.
Then, all you have to do is slide on a curtain that’s the same length as your dishwasher, and you’re done! The final look will be reminiscent of sink skirts that were commonly used in old-world kitchens.
“Very cute. I would love to cover up mine. I don’t even use it,” one person commented on Isabella’s Instagram post. Another said, “Yes ma’am. We are renting and can not do much. How chic.”
The magnetic curtain rod also gives you the ability to easily swap out the curtain and change up the look of your kitchen between seasons. Use a darker curtain for the winter months, and then swap it out for something light and airy when the weather warms up.
Your kitchen will go from cold and boring to cozy and vintage-inspired in a snap. These magnetic curtain rods will change the way the entire space looks, and you can take renovating off the to-do list!
